After noticing a slew of broken links coming from the Steiner’s eCommerceBytes Blog, we decided to investigate. Any web developer who looks at their open graph source code, will bust a gut over this 😎
And they’ve not made the jump to https. Just going https encryption gives websites a decent boost in search. Back in 2014 Google blogged this article on encryption.
Security is a top priority for Google. We invest a lot in making sure that our services use industry-leading security, like strong HTTPS encryption by default. That means that people using Search, Gmail and Google Drive, for example, automatically have a secure connection to Google.
So if your site is still running without encryption, Doc published an article explaining how to get top of the line Transport Layer Security (TLS) totally FREE! 😉
Dead links coming from Ina Steiner’s eCommerceBytes blog
As a web developer and WordPress conciser, Doc couldn’t help but bust a gut, and nearly spit out a mouth full of coffee, seeing this source code! Serious issues like this could lead to the site being delisted by Google.
AuctionBytes and eCommerceBytes have been providing valuable eCommerce news since around 1997. The popular website is especially valuable to eBay sellers with all their constant changes and glitches.
Doc has known Ina and David Steiner since his early eBay Motors days. This post is not a personal jab, but is constructive criticism, knowing y’all can do better than this!
Getting out into cyberspace is a MUST these days. Y’all might wanna consider upgrading to PHP 7, Enabling Encryption, And.. Fix those Open Graph (:OG) tags!
Oh well.. as usual.. Just my two cents worth! 😎
