After thinking about AuctionBytes latest run in with eBay, I have to wonder. What is on that the Steiner’s blog that scares eBay so much? eBay must be seriously concerned about not only Ina Steiner and her eBay articles, but some of the comments must really strike a nerve at eBay Headquarters.
There really is no other explanation other than the fear that some big media outfit or Federal agency will read something that peaks their interest, and start an investigation.
And that absolute line of bull that eBay fed the Steiner’s as to why their site was reported for phishing.
eBay’s Senior Manager of Media Relations Johnna Hoff emailed EcommerceBytes an explanation later that day.
In the course of normal monitoring, a combination of keywords on an eCommerceBytes blog post was flagged for its similarity to potentially fraudulent references unrelated to eCommerceBytes. As a result, eBay employee access to the site was temporarily blocked. Access has been restored. eBay respects eCommerceBytes and apologizes for any inconvenience.
Just what key words were used in that article that appeared phishy to eBay’s bots? And also why do eBay Employees need access to AuctionBytes / eCommerceBytes Blog anyway? eBay employees should be WORKING instead over reading what the Steiner’s publish about eBay, and the comments her readers post.
But it still sounds like another half ass eBay cut and paste eBay bullshit response to me. Obviously from the poor grammar, it was sent from India where the help is cheap.
As a matter of a fact, sounds just like the double speak Hany Durzy used to spew out to the media. To which Vladuz replied using eBay Pink board access..
There is Good and there is Bad. There is also those who constantly scheme to do someone in, or throw another fellow worker or business associate under the bus to make just a little bit more profit, without having any conscious about the damage it might cause to fellow man. Sounds like eBay Corporation to me.
Vladuz was without a doubt a bad person that had no consideration of the Millions of eBay Seller and Buyers that lost money while he was taunting eBay. But i still get a big ole LOL out of eBay’s lies and cover up attempts.
As for Ina and David Steiner. They are always careful to not wright about anything that’s too eBay negative. I suppose they fear eBay, and need eBay contact to keep their business website going. Can’t really blame them if they have to brown nose eBay a little. If it were not for eBay their little website would loose most of it’s traffic and wither away, just like most of the mom and pop sellers that eBay put out of eBusiness.
When this site was getting hammered by a particularly nasty DdoS Attack last July i never got a reply to emails i sent to Ina Steiner. Guess she was terrified of her site getting whacked too. Needles to say I took the time to screen cap a shot of my Open DNS showing their blog was blocked and email it to them this morning.
I’m honestly believing that not many folks care about eBay and the people that follow them. 5 years ago, a story like what happened to EB would have the blog-sphere on fire with comments. Folks must just mostly ignore eBay news these days.
A lot of former eBay critics are gone. Fire Meg don’t post much any more, Rosalinda Baldwin of The Auction Guild has not been heard from in years. Company Exposed has not updated their blog in years. And there are those that throw up a site but a year later when it’s domain renewal time they are gone.
It’s mostly Me and Cappnonymous that are left. This sites traffic tells the tale that eBay is really dead. I get the occasional stragglers searching for eBay VPP or other “too good to be true car scam info” but otherwise that’s about it.
eBay sure was a good thing back when it was a trusted venue to buy and sell on. Not much left of the classic eBay website any more. It’s sad what eBay has become!
